Good Work Team ! ! ! Looks like a bunch of good numbers from all of us here this week. Keep up the good work. As for myself, I just added 3 more remotes this weekend! 2.6 P4, 667 Celly, and a 2.0 Celly Lappy. So hopefully I can stay above Synplicity for a little longer!

Well done, team! 1.35 mikkion points is a strong day.

Some nice passes today and strong output scattered throughout the roster.

I cannot believe the weekend is almost over! Way too fast. I went to an awesome show last night with 7 friends. The power of the music was tremendous and the magic of the show, palpable. We saw the Trans Siberian Orchestra (http://www.trans-siberian.com/intro.html). Incredible stuff. I have all their CD's and have enjoyed them for years, especially around this time of year, naturally. We had orchestra seats, in the center, about 10 rows back, and it was magnifigent.

Anywhoo, we're in the final stretch; Christmas is less than a week away. Personally, I have a short work week, 4 days. And then 10 days off. I'm looking forward to Christmas. Am also looking forward to the parts for my Prometeia arriving, hopefully on Wednesday. Could be doing a lot of tweaking and OCing over the holidays!

Lots of replies...

I had a very busy day yesterday (for a change), managed to get 2 sheets of plasterboard dry linner on the bathroom wall, fitted another door, got a set of lights working that had packed up. Loaded the dishwasher (she's still walking like John Wayne), and generally tidied up.

I also managed to squeeze another 100 points or so rating by oc'ing a couple of machines. This is very usefull as I can now turn off my P2 dually radiator and an old P3 which combined have a rating of 100 - should save a few bucks on electric too :)

Other than that, had a few beers last night, downloaded a playable demo of Need For Speed Underground and had some fun playing that, then had a couple more beers.

I see we trounced last weeks week total, and some! A clear 700k up. Some fantastic totals coming in from some members, and a great deal of output coming in from lower in the ranks :D

I didn't bother with the running projects as they change almost daily atm, I'm looking at a way of getting that data straight into Excel so it can be listed daily, rather than loaded in manually once a week.

I'm also looking at a way of compressing the end of week stats into a format that can be posted into the FaD forums, their forum won't take the advanced vb codes that this forum does, in fact this is the ONLY forum I have come across that does :D

I have noticed in the last couple of weeks or so, some 200 new members have joined FaD, out of these, 174 have joined team None, so there is plenty of potential XPC FaD team members out there, we need to create a bit more profile in the FaD forums, at least a weekly roundup posted there might help...

Opinions???

I don't think it is, theres nothing wrong with advertsing our team in the team spirit sections. We have our own thread in there, as long as everything is posted in it, I can't see the harm. It will at least keep the XPC thread bumped at the top position...

Shyguy
12-20-2004, 3:50 PM
Just got home from work, stopped at the local Surplus place on way home, they had a nice selection of old PC parts & stuff, not much I could use, except some parts, but still unbelieveable. But one thing did disappoint me, the shoe box full of CPU's they had, I'm talking Pentium 60 on up to a Pentium Pro 200, on to Cyrix MII 300 & some others, plus a nice collection of PII Slot 1 CPU's ,266's some 300 somethings & several 400's. but with all teh socket based CPU's a majority of them had their pins bent, mainly because of the half a$$ed way they had everything thrown in teh box, the one Pentium Pro 200 they had, I saw & said to myself HELLLOOOO, then picked it up & saw about 10 or more pins that were pretty badly bent. But they had a huge selection of HSF's & stuff too, mainly passive HS's, but soem otehr goodies too, 3 8-port DLink switches ($5 a piece), a older 1993 era 16 port LAN Switch, a 4 port Belkin manual KVM switch, all of these are with out Power bricks or plugs, but still, a nice collection. They had 1 845MB Seagate IDE HD, several "newer" CDROMs (like 2-4 years old), & a few older 4x CDROMS & a old caddy type CDROM, an old Packard Bell Legend system (Pentium I think), an even more ancient Panasonic Sr. Partner (I think thats what it was called), all in one system, for $19, 5inch monitor, floppys, keyboard. They had old Proxy Server Internet adapters, looked like a RJ45 connector on one side & some sort of parralel port or something on teh other. dozens of old 9600 Modems, 2 or 3 Soundblaster Vibra 16 Sound cards, half a dozen VGA, SVGA, XGA CRT's, 3-4 dozen IBM compatible PS/2 style Keyboards. hundred or more Power cables/plugs. 2 whole shoe boxes full of RAM Sticks, old SIMMS, printer memory, SIMMS add-in/extender boards, they had at least one Unknown size stick of EDO ram in a plastic case. The thing about the CPU's that sucked was that they were asking $9.99 a piece no matter waht CPU it was, a bit much IMHO. BUt if I had soem extra spending cash right now, I could easily buy some fo this stuff & sell it online & make some extra cash. The only things I'd see about buying though (for myself) are the 400MHz or faster P2's, & the DLink 10/100 8 port switches, maybe the KVM too, possibly one or two of teh CRT's as they were asking only $19 each. But now I know if I need a few extra parts for a FaD cruncher, I know where to look. Oh yeah, I could not believe how many PC HSF & case cooling fans they had, had to be in the Hundreds & hundreds.

Tommorrow I'm stopping by Goodwill to see what they have laying around!:D

That list of stuff in your post sounds like what's in my shed, Shyguy. I got a few of those old serial to ethernet connectors the other day fron a place dumping PC's for the Salvos, that they gave to me to cobble some bits together for a youth shelter. ;) I'm giving 'em my old 486 Compaq CDS524 all-in-one, with Redhat 7.0 on it, as well. :)

I just finished testing a squillion old CD-ROMs I have to see if I can find a working one. Nope. Looks like they'll have to do without CD-ROM's in these, then. :(

Cheers

I'm still waiting for ebuyer to deliver the rest of the parts for the sempron 2000 thats gonna be a remote. It was supposed to arrive over a week ago, and I've been trying to post an enote on the website since then but it was really slow for most of the week and then wasn't accepting the enotes at all :( Anyway, I've managed to post one now so hopefully they'll get me the parts pretty soon! My Aunt has bought my cousins 2nd hand PCs for Christmas - not sure what they are yet but she's bringing them over tomorrow so I can sort them out. I'm not sure if I'll be able to run FaD on them though as I don't know if I can network them... She's also bringing her PC over though, which is on the interweb, so I'll assimilate that one :D A P2 I believe, but they all help. I'll be seeing my Uncle's XP2500 on Boxing day too - that hasn't returned a result for months so I'll try and find out why - I think it's probably Zonealarm thats been set to block it.

Good to see the team output back up to the usual high standards!

Mark- If you don't want to use the FaD web page to get the currently running projects info automated, you could ask blackbird how he gets the info into FADSpy(?) I don't know whether it gets the info from a file in the Find-a-drug folder on the computer or from the web when you run 'Update Life Targets Info'.

Win2Kuser
12-20-2004, 7:02 PM
Thanks Danny, yeah I tried that, and didn't really get a reply that I could understand. There are a lot of files to sort through apparently in a web folder full of thousands of little files...

I should be able to get the FaD web page into Excel, it's whether or not I can get it to parse the info needed. Will hopefully get to look a bit further into it tomorrow :)
