Hey y'all, yes indeed, it's that update time again...

Great days crunching; 1.4 million points uploaded, 600 thousand molecules deflowered, and 58 thousand hits conceived :D

Hope you are all enjoying the last Saturday before Chrismas, and that shopping wasn't too bad.

This time next week, it'll all be over, well at least in the UK anyway :D

PJ takes yesterdays waffler of the day award, so with that in mind, are you sitting confortably?...

Didn't really get up to much today, lazed around late morning after getting up at 11 and posting the stats, then had cheese on toast for lunch.

After a breif session with Woz on Skype, I moved a light switch in the bathroom, then lazed around a bit more, had tea, more lazing around, caught my nipple on the dado rail between the lounge and dinning room (very sore), watched a bit of tv, now I'm eating a Cadburys Flake whilst I was waiting for the stats to update.

All exciting stuff!

Back to the Flake though, how do you eat yours?
I break mine up into chunks whilst it is still wrapped, I then carefully open the wrapper, eat the chunks, then fold the wrapper in half and tip the yummy chocolate crumbs straight into my mouth :D

Not sure how many words that was, but whilst I'm thinking about it, I'll roll a fag...

Anyway, as I said, great days crunching, nice dumps, and a few movers, what more could you ask for :D

Now that these have been posted (I waited up deliberately to post them so that OAF can see them), this means that the current competition generously hosted by Kev, Rea, and Paul is now closed...

Thats about it for me - I'm surprised that after 16 months posting stats, I can still think of something to say :)

Mick's working on a bunch of old Pentiums for a youth shelter to use. :rolleyes: Takes quite a bit of time to find enough bits in my huge pile in the shed to make four working boxes. Didn't realise I kept quite so many non-working parts... :eek:

Wow, I'm just happy I got the number right in the first round!!!:D

As to my points, Didn't bother checking them yesterday or today, yesterday I slept most of the day, as I called in sick after feeling like crap all morning & ralphed all my dinner & dessert from night before, just as I was about to leave the house for work. Today I worked from 8-5, then finished up a majority of my xmas shopping, almost got into a 2 way t-bone accident, some jack@$$, ran a red light, after sitting at it for a few seconds, almost hitting teh side of teh car next to me in the left lane (the guy who almost hit him was to my right), & then after they stopped I almost t-boned that guy, so what does he do, honks his horn at the ones that were next to me that he almost hits, so I return the favor to him, holding my horn down, & creeping closer & closer to him, hoping the moron would back up, but no. Anyways, I was gald to get home, & spent the last 2 hours trying to figure out how the hell I'm gonna "mod" that HP EPC C10?

I put in teh 850 P3, & a 128MB PC133 DIMM, then it was a matter of figuring how the hell to put in a better HSF, than the stock POS it came with. Originally it had a shroud mounted over teh CPU & heatsink with a low profile 80mm on the shroud to draw in air from out side & blow over the passive heatsink. But since I had a 850 P3 in there I wanted better bigger heatsink & a dedicated fan for it, my old Athlon XP stock HSF was way to big & wide, then I dug out my collection of Socket A/370 HSF's, & the Socket 370 HSF's, & took a Socket A/370 All aluminum HSF, took off the original 60mm lower profile Foxcon fan & mounted a slightly higher profile 60mm from another P3 HSF, has slightly deeper & steeper angled blades, so I'm hoping it moves a bit more air. put the case on, DAMN not much clearance left after that!!!, maybe a cm or .5cm of clearance before the fan would touch teh cases grill.

but i'll post a pic of it, I still haven't gotten teh thing to run, I tried using my DELL lappys PSU for it, though the EPC originally required a 60W PSU, I think my DELL lappy is only like 40-50W, but not sure, I got the fan to spin & after a while the CPU was getting warm, but when I had the PC plugged into teh monitor I got no screen, either it wasn't booting or didn't ahve enough juice to boost.

But there is issues with this thing?

1. plugged in, the CPU fan starts turning automatically?
2. above happens, but power light doesn't turn on?
3. If you wait a minute or two, then sometimes the power LED comes on?
4. you hit the power/reset button, the damn thing doesn't shut off?
5. same as above, sometimes it does shut off, but only if you hold down the power button, if you let go, it turns on again?
6. as for enough juice, I plugged in a 80mm case fan into teh power molex for the hard drive, & got plenty of power to spin up teh fan, so that is getting power for sure?

so many weird things with this little bugger I can't even begin to describe, I think i'll be working on this thing for soemtime trying to pinpoint the problem, oh well that give sme time to find a optical drive & psu for it, so back on teh shelf it goes till then.

after That I tried to figure out how I could put in one of teh CC lights I have into my case, the one I got is made for PC or a car, & is frickin brilliant as heck, to bright for my case IMO, so I figured if I could tuck it away in the case somewhere, but no, then I got thinking, I'll have to try & take out teh Zip100 drive I have in there taht I never use anymore, & mod a 3.5" bay panel to mount a on off switch to wire teh CC & waht ever extra crap I want to it, so i can turn it on or off, when I see fit. but that'll have to wait, tommorrow I need to set up the used 17" monitor I bought for my Bro for Xmas to his PC so its ready for him when he comes home on wednesday or Thursday from Air Force for Xmas. then I need to get the little HP Pavillion all ready for my Bro & his Wife, for their "new" PC for Xmas, so That won't be crunching anymore after Wednesday... At least not here, hoping to get them to leave it on over at their place!!!

As to my points tonight, I was surprised to see almost 7K as all those points are from just the main rig in the past 2 days, probably could have uploaded a few grand from teh T-bird & made 1.5Mil in points today but figured I'd wait a few more days from that one.

My day has been 'interesting'!

We had one poorly littlun this morning, he's got the bug which is currently doing the rounds, and he started the day at 6am by throwing up everywhere!

We were booked to see Santa on a Steam Train (http://www.watercressline.co.uk/santa.htm) today, no way he wanted to miss that, so we went along! He loved it, despite being unwell!

We cancelled the lunch planned afterwards, as he wasn't up to it, and despite having CalPol ( paracetamol suspension) 2 times,by mid afternoon, he was running a temp but cold to the touch, and light sensitive, so we bimbled on down to the doc just to rule out the sinister stuff!

The doc reccomended we give him some Ibuprofen as well, and we had some Childrens Advil in the house from the last visit to the states! Wow! It gets my vote! Less than one hour after the first dose, he was transformed from unhappy, whinging, whining, "my skin hurts" type child, into one who could bounce up and down on my chest whilst eating grapes and singing Christmas carols!

Could be a long night, though! Poor love!
