I need help again please
I have Presario 2100 laptop
The problem I'am having is when I log on I have a box that comes up and says Configuration utility then under that it says unable to connect to the network agent driver program will terminate then has a box to click ok.

I click ok then the box goes away everything works fine, so I cant see it doing anything wrong. I would just like to know why that is coming up, and if there is away I can stop it from coming up.

Thanks
Tone

Sorry Tone...I missed this post this morning as I was not around last night....

What is happening most likely is a setting has been altered which is autostarting the network program prior to the network card getting fully initalized and thus the configuration program is unable to fully access the card's settings and such and reports the error...but by the time you get rid of the box and such the network is fully initalized and thus everything is working as it should....

Bottom line is you probably have several things that are autostarting in the background and this has caused a "false positive" error to be generated by the network. You could go thru and one by one eliminate programs that are autostarting to see which one is causing the delay and such and then maybe change the launch order to allow the network to fully initalize before the config program launches.

I have the exact same problem on a new installed XP Home OS on my wife's Dell Laptop.

If you search Microsoft knowledge base for this sentence you get zero results.

BUT if you search for "Configuration Utility" you get a page with all the answers. Here's the link:
