BitBendertech's forum. BBT is some great people that crunch for UD.
Its where zippy kidnapped me from! Nah,I can't let that stand. He showed me Fad and I moved one machine over(starting out slow),then several ,then I kicked it into warp drive! And the rest is history.

Holy Shiite?!, Batman!
Wow. Welcome to XPC and to this FaD team, ZB. It is very good to see you here. I was stunned to click on my link to this forum, and see the welcome thread for you at the top of the other posts. It came out of left field. It was disorienting, like "where am I?" :)

Thanks Ken, I wonder if anyone knows of an easy way to get two instances of FaD to run in Linux on a dually (right now it's running 2 instances in XP), and also if there's a Linux distro that can both be a router and also crunch at the same time (I currently use Smoothwall for my firewall/router).

Hey ZB, I use IPCop and the latest version let's me run FAD fine!! :D The only gotcha is that *nix needs plenty of RAM. Dunno why, as it doesn't use it, but it needs either 256MB physical RAM, or a 256MB swapfile. Before the latest IPCop version, you couldn't use a swapfile, but now you can!! :D

Also, with duallies et al, you need to change the number of copies of THINk running to 2 when using linux. This is done with ./fadsetup - can't recall the switch, but if you do a ./fadsetup -help it will tell ya. :)

./fadsetup -copies 2 will do it. I tried IPCop,I guess I'm too dumb to run it .Installed it ok but that was it.
