View Full Version : An end to trolls, spammers and flamers!

How's this for Aussie ingenuity? :D Got this post from a broadband forum in Oz, where the mods are complaining about flaming of n00bs..... :rolleyes: I visit a lot of forums and flaming is pretty much endemic everywhere. Banning posters generally doesnt work as they come back with different niks anyway.

Here is my brilliant idea that I dreamed up but have never seen implemented anywhere.

Instead of banning a bad boy, allow them to continue to post but set their account so that they are the only person that sees their posts. They will not know that they have been effectively sin-binned but will not be able to bait anyone. Eventually they will assume that everyone else is too mature to reply to their rubbish and either go away or mend their ways.

Brilliant, I reckon. :) Howzat, eh? :cool: Whadaya reckon, Snowman; she a goer? ;)

Mick That is actually quite easy to do with vb 3.0.3. A little more work in the 2.x flavors of vb.. I personally dont see the need for it here..

Good idea, Mick, for TIMO.

Here, people don't express their true opinions in religion/politics/abortion/gay rights/guns control and other controversial subjects anyway so it'd be wasted here anyways.

I enjoy the fact that politics etc are left out of this forum,it makes for a more relaxed atmosphere in my opinion.

How about if i just hook the wire with the cans on it to the kite then give other end to TinkleToes while flying it in a thunder storm :D
