Thanks everyone, I've been pretty sick and haven't been up much, but tonight I feel a little better(not chucking my insides out) and thought I'd stop in. Tomarrow @ 1PM I get my next dose and I'll probly feel really sick again. But the doc says that since he caught it really early in the growth and is rellitivly small that I would have a 100% chance of full recovery and so at this point there is not a real bad scare to me and I'm thinking about as positive as a person could givin how I feel. The doc also said I will be starting a new drug tommarow that will help control my sickness so that was the best news I've heard all day,I'll have to see how well it works.

Here's a C & P of my post from TechIMO as I'm to tired to try to type to much more tonight and thanks everyone for all your help.Well here it is.Hello, I went for another treatment of chemo this afternoon and don't feel as sick this time as I started using procrit which helps like you wouldn't believe(I only vomited twice today after treatment).Tomarrow I go for radiation again and then only 2 more times of radiation and then it's just chemo for who knows how long. I learned that I had cancer due to going to the doc because I was having problems breathing and didn't have any energy and felt drianed all the time. So people if ya don't feel good please get checked out for your good and your family. They did an x-ray of my lungs thinking maybe fluid of some kind was present and found the small cell cancer tumor growing. I used to smoke about 3 packs a day but slowed to only one a day about a year ago and now I have quit and am on the patch and ziban drug.I have tried many times in the past but this time there's no giving in. I can't sleep very well still since this all started and felt pretty depressed tonight but I had a bunch of friends and family over and started feeling a bit better. The ride home from treatment has to be the worst as it's about 45 miles and I'm feeling pretty weak right now. I took my 2 1/2 week vacation I had left til sept. when I get 3 more weeks, so hopefully it will help as I couldn't make it through a day at work without getting sick and my wife didn't want me going anyways in the shape I'm in. Well I better try to get some sleep as it's already 11:30PM my time and 10 AM comes to soon when I head back out. Thanks for the support everyone

Sorry to hear about this MDS.

Have you considered cannabis to help prevent nausea and vomiting? It may be worth mentioning to your doctor. My uncle used it when he went through chemo and it helped most of the time. If it is something you may consider I can provide you with some helpful links.

MDS, In support of what your going thru I had my hair buzzed last night with a #1 clipper (it's about .25" in length).
Your doing great and thanks for the update. We are keeping you and yours in our prayers :)

In the words of a famous local lumberjack:
Be well, MDS :)

I can't cut mine, but I did shave the "bald spot" this morning, which usually has at least three hairs standing up like Kilroy.

OK, actually I don't have a "bald spot"...I have a "hair spot" That covers fully 0.01% of my cranium.

Chemotherapy has got to be the world's biggest drag. If you drink enough poison, and stop just before it kills you, it will kill the cancer.

At least we hope and pray that it does.

Get well, buddy.

You guys are funny, I think bald men are very sexy. My bestfriend is bald by choice. He loves it and so do I.
