Nice multiple desktops with RAdmin there, draboo. I tend not to look at mult desktops at once, as I can only really concentrate on one thing at a time. :p

Maybe it's information overload you are suffering, eh? ;)

Cheers
Mick

edit: BTW, if you ain't yet, you should try their beta version 3 viewer. Quite neat, and it's currently free! :D

I'd be prepared to put the TT Kitemark (= approved) on that VNC software. It's fairly foolproof - even I can use it.

And what Tank in his modesty forgot to say is that he has prepared a most excellent tutorial (also awarded the TT Kitemark) which includes a section on how to set up VNC (http://forum.find-a-drug.org.uk/viewtopic.php?t=1695&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0)on the FaD Boards.

many "tanks" for the link. just what i ve been a hankerin` fer:bunny:

i attempted to use vnc software, but, unlike a kite savvy bloke like yourself, couldnt master the install. hense the use of RAdmin. which is DIRT SIMPLE to install,versus...mmmm......not dirt simple?for vnc.

i ll give er a go,as soon as i gett caught up on da chores(drinking coffee, chasing the bride, blowing nose, ditto)

ultravnc.sourceforge.net is a good redition of VNC too. I still prefre Radmin though because the screen refresh seems to be much better.

Draboo - I dunno about 'kite savvy', but there are one or two guys around here who would say that if I can install it and get it running, then it's pretty sharderproof.

But...why use vnc at all when all I see is running xp that has it's free mstsc?

Presumably 'cos XP don't run on Win2k....

BBA is correct...if you are running XP pro (not home) on your crunchers, you can simply use XP's remote desktop to remotely control the machine.

dameware, radmin are all commercial software...they might be a bit more polished than VNC but you gotta pay.

Tank, you don't have to be running XP on the 'controlling' machine...the majority of my my desktops run w2k and i can remotely control my XP machines w/o any problems. just download the remote terminal client from microsoft's site.

draboo, VNC is pretty simple to install...if you have any questions, there's plenty on the team who can help you. but i guess you'll be using Radmin.

My point was that if you don't have XP then you need "third party software" and my screenshot is of Win2k not XP!
