Since today is the last day of school for my kids my schuduled also has changed. Normally my days are take kids to school go to work then go pick up my son and back to work and boss/best friend takes my son to lunch with him then they come back to the shop. Most often I am not home till almost 5pm after I pick up my daughter at 4:45pm.

We got to work this morning and we had a sudden change of plans. We decided to go out to breakfast since it would be quite a while before we are able to do this again. So we decided to say heck with work this morning before opening up the shop and go to breakfast.

We both had Garbage Grinder's Omelet at Fat Alberts. Yum Yum! Great little tiny cafe if you ever get this way.

Anyhow, with this schdule change today it was clear I needed to take my son home this time to cook him some lunch before going back to work since boss/bestfriend and I already had a hearty breakfast.

This turns out to be a very good thing for me that is!

I pick him up and we come home so I can make him some lunch.

OMG!!! FLOOD!!!!

Im like carp! (yes misspelled on purpose) and that is being nice to what I was really thinking.

First thing first was shut off the electric. then zoom back to the shop to pick up a water sucking hose then zoom back here to clean up the mess.

My daughter had filled her water bottle up before leaving this morning for school and forgot to turn the water off! I relize was an accident BUT.....................................

Anyhow took about 2 hours to suck up all the water, was about close to an inch in depth all in the kitchen and it was running under the baseboard flowing outside and also into the garage and also into the living room. :(

Forunately we decided to say screw it and went out to breakfast otherwise the damage would have been far worse! If i had been gone the entire day like I normally am. So I am thankful for our change of plans this morning.

Once got that cleaned up, next task was to get the water out of the carpet, that took about an hour and a half.

Two of the lower cubbards not sure if the water will ruin the wood, as it was soaked all the way through, my garbage can under the sink was clear full to the brim with water as well as all my bowls, pans, and such in the lower cubbards.

the floor looks okay in the kitchen with the exception of one badly repaired by landlord before renting the place of a square piece of linolin by the door, its peeling up, so i think after letting it dry for a few days will get some of that glue stuff and tack it down again and it should be fine, The house had already has water damage under carpets through out the house, landlord won't do nothing about it. so that is fine with me.

Now I just need to wash all the dishes again. Ugh! But want to put a few fans facing to the insides of the cubbards to hopefully help dry them faster.

Been quite the day cause I got nothing done at the shop and wasn't able to feed my favorite pets. :( That is okay there is always tommorrow.

Oh can you guess what my favorite pet is in the shop. its at Aquariums Live. I pretty much take care of thier computers and all accounting for them. I enjoy it.

Its a freshwater tropical fish store so to give you an idea what types of pets that live in the water that is my favorite.

So who can guess??? :D Oh ya I want hte full sciencitific name for it to. ;) hehehe, ya right! nah the common name is fine.

Have a great day, im off to go get tacos.

EDIT: on the bright side! Good news to this, is that in the one cubbard that had the most water filled bowls and pans and such NONE of my rice got wet! about 30 pounds worth! was inside of one of those plastic containers with the lid on top. Boy was i relived to see that the rice was not wet!! We eat alot of rice!

:) :) :) so not all bad happened. :)

LOL Fosin! Good one, that would be pretty dangerous stepping around here if the "fish" felt threatened, (hint hint) Any idea what it is. :) actually they are pretty tame, you can hand feed them.

Oh Surreal, I wish that was true, you haven't seen this place, its truely HORRID! :( NO matter how much I clean its still HORRID! The carpets and floor boards need to be replaced as this entire house has suffered serious water damage prior to my moving in, I didn't relize this till AFTER i moved in. I'd go into detail but I don't want to bum no one out and im bummed out enough as it is. Im looking to move soon.

Close but not quite, these get quite a bit larger than Pirrana's, we have a bunch of those, we sold our 4 big ones but have about 30 babies.

Another hint, they are bottom dwellers and they can deliver a nasty injury if they are mishandled or frightened.

Sorry to hear that Neo...
Glad you're ok, and glad the house is well.. 'ok' and you can still live there for the time being...
Have you found anything more about the paperwork to get your own place?

Sorry haven't been online lately :(
Been quite busy at work, we're trying to update a lot of stuff and that requires the late shift (me and the next shift guy) to kick a lot of the servers since its off hours.. and during the normal work hours I'm swamped with other work grrr lol damn work thing  hehe

You're a strong person Neo, things will get better I promise :)

Keep your chin up, and do what you can to keep a smile on your face :)
As they say.. walk with a big grin on your face, people will wonder what you're thinking ;) lol

No, but when I did a quick search all that came up where pictures of those. It's those mean looking fish that years ago most aquarium shops had on display. Looks like a brim that swallowed a porcupine. I want to say angel fish, but don't think that's right.

Not what she's talking about anyway, but wouldn't mind knowing the name :)

NOpe not the 8legged marine animal nor the lobster. So that only leaves the ray left. LOL.

Scientific name of the one we have is called Potamotrygon Motoro
also known as a yellow spotted stingray or Orange Spotted Stingray.

The other one we have is a Potamotrygon Hystrix also known as a Mottled Stingray.

The both are true beaufiful animals. they got quite the personality, The one motoro likes to rearange the tank all the time, she is a blast to watch and the other loves to come up to your hand and get the food from you.

As for the spiney fish, there are several that are spiney, the one that comes to mine is the Jaruipi, is that the one you are thinking of? I'll have to inquire more about that as to which one you might be thinking of.

Very sorry to hear about the unfortunate accident....the only thing I did as a kid that was close to that was overflow the toilet (but we all do that...don't we??)...the whole Bathroom/hallway flooded to about 1/2 an inch...won't get into details about the smell...:p
