Greetings. I have a GF3 Ti200 and a GateWay EV700 (about 1.5yrs old) Monitor. I am currently running my refresh rate at 85 (Max supported Rate). I unchecked the box to hide rates that the monitor may not support and tried to run it at 100 (it goes much higher, but dont want to really stress it ). It flickered, but then went back to 85. How do I force it to stay at 100. I know, this may not be healthy for the monitor by possibly shortening its life, but I dont want to keep it that way permantly, just want to experiment with it and see if it will increase some of my game visuals and FPS- just having "good ole fashioned fun" .
So, simple question- How do I make it stay at 100?
Thanks All!

Well, normally, it should stay at the refresh rate you set the monitor at as long as your monitor and video card supports this refresh rate at this resolution... However, keep in mind that anything over 85Hz is not noticeable and will not enhance your the performance or output results. Also keep in mind that any refresh rate higher than 85Hz will cause a "glow" effect where text doesn't look as crisp...

Hmm, Interesting. I know my card supports the Rate, maybe it is my Monitor. I also want to play with this because I got a pair of 3D Gaming Glasses to play with. When using the glasses, I read FrameRates are cut in half so I wanted to experiment with higher rates to see how that effected the visuals- so far, I am not completely impressed with the glasses. I read elsewhere that increasing refresh rates helps enormously. Maybe this wont make a significant difference- but I am going to try to track down another monitor that will run higher rates to see if it makes a difference (think I have a 15 that will).
Thanks for the Info! Always quick on the draw and replies! :)

Yes, I have heard that also about increasing the refresh rate. But I saw absolutely no performance gain by raising the refresh rate from 85Hz to 100Hz on my 19" monitor...
