All I did was call bellsouth and tell them I wanted to change to the extreme service...now I get much better bandwidth AND the static IP is free.
This actually makes bellsouth better than the old directv dsl.

Eh, same speed I get with cable here, no static IP but it never changes. Still fast though. Big problem is that it is supporting Bell, but thats another story.
Well...I dont care about who it's supporting, the important part is it is a better service than my once cherished directvdsl but with almost twice the bandwidth and even lower cost.
That I cant complain about.
And I still dont have to share bandwidth with the neighbors. :D

lol i have comcast cable. Unlimited bandwith, my ip hasnt changed in a year, 400k download speeds on sites that are fast enough. 200k on 90% of sites. upload around 40-50k usually. These are all kilobytes per second.

I have Charter cable and get 3 Mb/sec down and my IP rarely ever changes. I only get 284 K upload though. I wish they would increase their upload speeds.

And I still dont have to share bandwidth with the neighbors. Nah, you just have to share it with everyone that uses your CO. ALL networks share, unless you are using a crossover cable.

Heh, I suspect you are right. Shame that criminals like them control it.
But, as long as you are happy with your service and I am with mine, thats all that matters.
