what would be a good mid range mobo for my two P-III 850E's I really don't want any intergraded stufff, but if I have to, I just want on board sound.
Thanks

I would suggest the following motherboards:

- Abit SH6 (http://iceberg.pchomeworld.com/cgi-win/L3Static/L3Stat.asp?Part=MB66559)

- Gigabyte GA-6VX-4X (http://iceberg.pchomeworld.com/cgi-win/L3Static/L3Stat.asp?Part=MB66111)

- Iwill VD133Gold (http://iceberg.pchomeworld.com/cgi-win/L3Static/L3Stat.asp?Part=MB65811)
(btw, a nice OC'er if you're so inclined ;))

- Micro-Star MS-6301 (http://iceberg.pchomeworld.com/cgi-win/L3Static/L3Stat.asp?Part=MB65713)

The ECS D6VAA offers great stability and performance for a low price :)

Jadison...take note :)
for my two P-III 850E's I added the bold :D
also the 850e's are socket 370's and all you listed where slot one boards single cpu's so even with the use of slotkets his still not using 2.

I have to vote for this one as I have it and love it

but this one will also offer a bit more longevity

Asus has a few boards that will do nicely - HP used them in their KAYAK XM600 model about 3 years ago. Should make a nice little home server if you run win2k on it - stable machine - only thing is that it uses RAMBUS on the board and not too many people like that - I don't mind it too much

P3C-D model - you'd have to get CPU adapters however - this is a dual SLOT1 board. - has onboard sound (MGA) and dual USB - nic and vid are separate - 6 pci and agp slots

As it is an older board - you can probably find it cheap Asus still supports it.
