Securities and Exchange Commission rules state that a company must report financial results if it has at least $10 million in assets and has more than 500 shareholders.
According to the San Jose Mercury News, Google has both and may have to issue quarterly reports starting April 30.
If true, it would make sense for Google to go public as soon as possible, to avoid disclosing its financial information without the benefits of a stock offering. Read more (http://www.nypost.com/business/22984.htm)
