My guess would be a corrupt library somewhere that the OS needs to open them.
Try SFC maybe.

Well, so much for that idea. The cd-rom just went out and I don't have a replacement. I've got several files I want to transfer in hopes to fix this problem but until I can get the drivers for the onboard NIC off the CD, its a no-go. :(
Anyone got a used cd-rom they are willing to trade? I've very little money.

You got another system, with a CD-rom that you can borrow & a USB HD, ie Jumpdrive, Thumbdrive, etc? Driver files shouldn't be that big?
Just copy drivers off of CD & transfer them over to other PC, via usb drive, after all you are running 98SE & should support those.

I don't have another systerm right now (this isn't even my computer - I'm working on it for my sister). USB doesn't work on it (yet). Most driver files are over 1mb (average 5-10mb).
As a last resort you could delete the ENUM key in the reg. and reinsall all of the drivers, I have done this before and it worked for me but I have seen other posts that it didn't for them, so thats why I say (last resort):)
