Did Intell ever make a Pentium II in a 500 MHz version? Intell's website says 450 MHz was as high as they went, but the website for my mobo says it will work with P II's up to 500MHz, and I saw an auction on e-bay for a P II 500 MHz. Anyone know for sure?

Might of been an engineering sample
Nope they never did.
Most people were taking P2 333 (later rev CPU's) and running them at 500 MHz, but that was not an official 500 MHz.
Yep, P2 450Mhz was the last model made for P2... Maybe they had a Typo where they meant P3?

I understood a 500 was in the works, but they stopped at 450.
When I bought my first 333, I heard it went up to (motherboard specs) 500, and the P3 started at 450. But that was in 1998.

Thanks for the info, guys! The online manual is probably a typo, It's a combined manual for 2 versions of the same mobo. As far as the e-bay auction, who knows what that guy was thinking.
