Thanks guys :D
BitSpit was the true stats master.
I simply took his idea - Using Excel and tried to come up with something original.
It has taken 6 months of steady improvements to get the stats the way they are now with the colour and all.
Woz's stats progy is a hard coded version of the Excel file and is the way to go. It quicker (although my Excel now takes less than 2 minutes start to finish), and cleaner, and can output the info in several different formats including html.
I am a bit reluctant to give up Excel in favour of the New one as the Excel file is just so easy to modify and change. Recent happenings with Zippy's member numbers showed that one, it took me all of 3 seconds to correct the issue. I think it took Woz a little while to realise what had happened before he changed it. Saying that, after doing this for over 6 months, these sort of things are easily spotted.
Once I have aquired a version of VBasic6 etc, I will be good to go, as I can then add all the info for TSC etc as it is now.
Woz has done an amazing job with the stats program considering it started off as a simple help with some VB code inside Excel, he has taken 6 months worth of work and created a program in 3 weeks that can do the same. I wouldn't even know where to start with a program like that.
Long live XPC, and long live XPC's stats :D

I have to admit, the XPC stats are my first stop every evening when I log on. :)
Great job as usual, Win2k for the daily gind around here, and WoO and Bitspit for their contributions.
I'm glad you guys are getting the recognition you deserve.

I think it took Woz a little while to realise what had happened before he changed it.
Yeah, took a couple seconds to figure out what happened, then about 5 seconds to fix it in the program :) (just have to check name vs name aswell as number vs number, allows for any 1 aspect of a user to change..)
I appreciate even more what Win2k and his predecessor have done for the stats, it's a substantial bit of work, the excel spreadsheet was heavily modified and was actually above me to figure out what it was doing (I'm not too much into excel)
Hopefully, When I can get the tail end to show as much as win2k's it will be viable for daily's here, the info is getting there, but what takes him 2 seconds to look up takes about 1 hour to code
Thanks everyone :)

As much as I hate using Excel, I have become to get used to its little quirks. Sure it is easy to modify, but at times there is so much in it now, I find it hard to see where I'm going with it.
Now, to put all that in a program is a great task. Hats off :D

Does that do it automatically now Woz, or does it require changing if it happens again?
Once I aquire the programs required to change or tweak it if required, it should be sweet.

It does it automatically now, (the only thing that's manual is setting up new merges of users, you might also have to reset them up if a user number changes, but it's only 3 clicks of a mouse :)
I've also added a force button to force a check of the stats... (outside of the usual 1 hour check)
The export will also happen automatically 1 minute after the new stats are grabbed...
I was going to move the merges into the config file, but decided against it as it can get ugly...
It's been done it automatically for a while now (since Zippy's little number change) also as long as 2 things about someone doesn't change you'll never notice it (within a 42 hour timeframe) after that 42 hours another thing can change :)

Didn't you know Zippy, you have a stray cow. More to the point, your member numbers changed because of it. I have only seen this once before, very strange occurence. Easily rectified of course :p Bet you never even noticed...

Hmm, I did notice that for a day or two, Statsman reported me as having no molecules crunched. However, both FAD stats and yours' showed steady growth. I was listed as producing in the daily stats. Not even sure of where that stray is; last I looked it looked like it did 1 job and stopped.

Yeah, I had to add some extra code to compensate for this in the future, I don't think the problem was yours (except for the stray) I think it was something with the software or servers, it is rather rare, infact I've had the same member number since I first popped up on the stats..

nah, you didn't give us a big head, Ben....we already knew that we had the best stats around. :bunny: ...joking.
but it is nice when others compliment us. :) our stats keepers (BitSpit, Win2kuser, WoZ) have done a tireless task of keeping them in shape when they were called upon.
