Problem Updating...

ok so i decided i would update my software, and everything was going great,till i got to update my office xp, i couldn't find my cd, so i hit cancel and went to look for it...

i finally found it,so i was all happy and all,but when i try to update now i get this error
Error 1328 Error applying patch to file C:\Config.Msi\PT10E7.tmp . It probably has been updated by other means and can no longer be modified by this patch. For more information contact your patch vendor.

*scratches head* i never updated my office xp yet,so i don't understand the error...and i dont see the folder C:\config.msi :confused:

I had a problem once when I went to a mobo site and it tried downloading a foreign language. I stopped it mid-stream and started having problems after that. Read the whole story Here (http://www.techimo.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9555&highlight=update).

I fixed it by clearing all my cookies. Might be worth a shot.

well i kept trying different things to work,but the strange thing is everytime i try to update i get the same error but .tmp file will be different...i'm trying to find it on knowledge base right now...
