I seem to make a new folder a lot. Is there anyway to speed up the process? Maybe add it to the right click menu? or is there a alt or ctrl method?
thanks

Well, you can press shortcut keys, ALT+F+N or go a bit further and use this method (http://www.woram.com/letter/01-07.HTM)...

You could also try this Freeware Utility (http://www.freewareweb.com/addons1.html). ;)

Thanks DNC. That link didn't work but google found me another one here (http://sac-ftp.gratex.sk/utilfile35.html)
That works real nice. :D

NDC I tried that link and couldn't get it to work. I used the capital N which is what I have with XP and also tried the other letters and it still didn't work.

Sorry about that, bhess, but I did not try the download as I already have the utility. :)

I'm pretty sure that New Folder is on the right-click menu (I also have WinXP BTW):

Yea, what jadison said :). It's on every version of win I use, like he showed.

But, I have to go in and delete all the other junk it adds to it after installing a bunch of software.

Who's going to make a new empty wav file anyway  :D

That's very odd...I've never seen a Windows OS (post Win3.1) that doesn't have "New" on the right-click menu. You right-click on the desktop or within open space...and you don't get "New" within your menu?

Post a screenshot of your right-click menu please.

Weird. If you right-click your desktop it's not there? (Make sure you don't have a file selected). Maybe there's a switch somewhere to turn that on and off.

Yes if I rt click on the desktop I get new. But that just adds a folder to the desktop. What I want is to be already in windows explorer and add a new folder to that directory.
example: I'm in c: and want to add a folder called "apps" or already in apps and want to add "norton"

It should work in explorer also. Try doing it in the right explorer pane with nothing selected, it doesn't seem to work in the left pane. You'd have to use file->new->folder in the left pane.

Yes I can do it with the file-new-folder method. But not in explorer. Until now with the app installed.

Select the folder you wish to make the new sub folder in and in the right hand workspace right click and use new->folder. This is a basic Windows feature. This is in all Windows O/S's since Win95.

Cheers!

Notice that I have "new folder" there but that is the program that I installed.

I know I believed you :). None of mine have it either in the left explorer pane. Only have it in the right pane. I wonder why they did that?

(I still think you smoke crack though)
