Lindows.com, the Linux provider embroiled with Microsoft in a globally-fought trademark dispute, announced Tuesday that it had submitted a motion to a Seattle court to stop what it called a “worldwide legal assault.”
Microsoft has tried, but so far failed, to shut down Lindows.com in the U.S. over the use of its use of “Lindows,” a name that Microsoft alleges plays off its Windows trademark. Microsoft then turned to foreign courts, including those in France, Canada, Finland, Sweden, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg; it was granted an injunction in the Netherlands that forced Lindows.com to shutter its Benelux operations last week. I thought the word WINDOWS was taken away from Microsoft... Lindows is doing the right thing
