"rar" File ?

Please help! I downloaded a game manual offline. It's a "rar" file.

No luck opening it so far...
What is a "rar" file and what program can/do I use to open it?

It's a compressed file like a *.zip. You need the WinRAR utility to de-compress/extract it, or WinACE or WinZIP. The latest versions of any of these should do the job. ;)

If you look in the "downloads" under utilities there is a great freeware one called "Alzip" (http://www.xtremepccentral.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=1) and it works great with just about all compressions out there :)

Yep! Alzip is a great program. Been using it for quite some time now and it supports every format availale on the Internet. It also has support for CAB files which is another great feature...
