I had the chance to scavenge some stuff at work, and I ended up making a comparison between a ViewSonic P810 Professional series 21" and the Sony E500 21" monitors.
At first the P810 looked more like a high res high quality monitor...but in reality, the cheaper Sony E500 is much clearer at hi res and has better screen adjustments.
I took both to 2048x1536 with the GF2MX 400 in my work system, and the P810 looked like a headache generator with windows explorer open viewing all the network computers here. The Sony actually looks sharp at the same resolution.
In my book, View Sonic Professional series does not compare favorably to the Sony E series.
