I just got a Antec SX-1040 (http://www.antec-inc.com/en_sohoser.html) and it's up now. it has the 400 watt psu and I got the two optional front case fans for it also. I like the way the side panel swings open then off. The front bay cover door is a plus for me as I'm always somehow hitting the power off or reset butons on our machines and keeps noisy fingers away from trying to see what they do. ( no not my kids, friends ) it has two removable drive bays, the top one is of the screwless type. the bottem is not. both bays unclip and swing/slide out to make it easyer to add drives. the bottem bay has a built in screwless mount fan bracket for a built in Hdd cooler and below that is another fan bracket of the same type for the front case fan. and no, these are not small little slits these fans are trying to suck air though, nice big slots and lots of them. fans are 80mm type and there is two in the back also in the screwless brackets. the rear two come stanard with the case. the psu is 400 watts and is P-4 and AMD approved, variable fan speed cooled too. the case is nice and roomy inside, lots of space to work on things. oh it has swing out feet for extra stabaleizeion too. I got four 80 mm case fans, the psu fan and the two 7000 rpm fans on the cpu's and I can hardly hear this running, it's super quite. I'm very pleased with it.
Cost? well I had it shipped overnight befor 10am via airborne express, as I knew Deb would be at the apt still at that time. I paid $248.52. just the case without the extra two fans and no shipping is $169.00.

Woh! Shipping
Anyway...I have the Antec 1040B and I love it. I added a custom filter on the inside of the front casing (just in front of the fanz & behind the slits) using an A/C unit filter material. I also added a HDD cooler as it fit nicely in the open 5 1/4 drive bay in the front. With a total of 10 drive bays internet/external this case fit my needs just right.

This case model is one of the most popular on the net, and from the dozens of modding/tweaking sites I've visited, also one of the most modded and tweaked PC cases of all.

BTW, nice review madfish! :)

I have a chieftec TX10-BD (http://www.chieftec.com/products/Workcolor/ColorTX.htm) which is the same interior as the Antec. The only difference is the front grill design and that Chieftec has a security latch for the side panel which connects to the mainboard header...

Cool, I'm going to add a front filter, as I have cats, hehehe lots of dust/hair in our machine and this thing is like a vacume, lol. Randy48 over at extremedc sent me a linky last night on the same case at Electroseller (http://www.electroseller.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=electroseller&Product_Code=ATXA1ES-W&Category_Code=040) for $99.00 and with the two extra fans brought it to $109.00. :D
NDC, I'm not going to mod this, lol, I could screw that up just thinking about it. thats something I'm not good at. tho I did mod my old Micron client pro Mre case with my oxy-axcel torch to fit a different mobo. the rear slots were all wrong for the new board. hehehehe it looked cool with all the scorch marks on it and the rough flame cut.
Jadison, shipping was about $70.00 for overnight, :D I order alot like that, tho I do use 2 day at times. I want my stuff NOW, not later, hehehehe. I'm just using the stock location Hdd bay fan that antec has in it. I only got one Hdd ( 13 g) and will be stuffing a 80 in it soon, it should run cool enough there. as for other drives, just a cd rom, I'm looking for a nice tape drive for backing up as this is going to be our house server when I get a bigger Hdd and learn more about servers ( running 2000 pro ) I would use my cd-r-w drive but it's not 2000 compatitable ( HP. 9350i 10x4x32x ) and it's just a year old too.
I'm not buying anymore geeks $18.00 case's, I love this one and already have three more antec's I like to pick up to exchange place's with these three geek case's we have.

Edit: hehehe still learning how to spell :p

hair balls? lol, back when I din't know better I use to run my dx/4's and the 233 mmx with the side panels off, I would always find a cat curled up inside amonst the cards in the morning cause of the warmth. now they stay close unless I'm working on them or I is right there while there running
