What's a good TV Tuner card that works well under Windows XP and is capable of capturing TV Programs, Video, etc without a limitation on time? I know all TV Tuner cards have this feature, but have very limited time on how much can be captured to AVI or MPEG format depending on the resolution... Thanks! :)

I believe that the time is related to the amount of disk space that the software detects. I use an old ATI All-In-Wonder 128 Pro and would stick with ATI as a replacement. ;)

Thank you for your reply, DNC. :)

Well, after doing some research, it appears that the software that comes bundled with the some TV Tuner cards can't have time limits on how long the length of the movie can be, the same way Easy CD Creator 5's "Video Impression" disregards free space on your hard disk. Anyhow, it looks like the software bundled with WinTV GO by Hauppauge deosn't have this limitation. I'm going to do some more research on this product and perhaps pick one up next week...

I did a lot of research on this as an add on to a computer I have running in to my big screen TV and AV receiver. I chose the Xstasy Everything from Visiontek, and I am quite impressed. The remote is a great addition. I was looking for a digital VCR type capability, and it does it admirably. Had an ATI before this. The link is Here (http://www.visiontek.com/everything.shtml)

Thanks to NDC's post it reminded me that I wanted to get into video editing a bit. The WinTV-Go looks like a nice card for its price just to play around with and if I really go serious with this I'll get something else.

There's one small problem though. I need a tv-out card. I'd hate to have to waste another PCI slot just to use a TV-Out card. Does anyone know where I can find a Tv-Tuner with the tv-out function, or a Voodoo3 w/ tv-out to replace my current V3 w/out tv-out.

Yeah, same here. I don't need a full-fledged MPEG encoder. I basically want something inexpensive to fiddle around with. But I just ran into a problem. They don't sell WinTV-Go here in Korea! :( They only have the top-line models such as the PVR's... Looks like I may need to look for an alternative.. Any suggestions?

Well, it looks like I will be going with a Hauppauge WinTV-Radio (401) which as an S-Jack and stereo. I got my buddy in the states to get me one from COMPUSA... It's should be here any day now! :)

NDC's computers haven't arrived from his previous residence yet, and he doesn't have net access at his home just yet. He just got back from Seoul, S.Korea to his home here in California.

He said he should be back online sometime in August, so he won't be by XPC for awhile. (just to give ya an explanation of why he probably won't reply for awhile) :)

Hey, OP! Glad you FINALLY joined XPC! Welcome aboard, buddy! :)

Well, I got the WIN TV-RADIO (401). For a card that costs a measely $100 bucks vs. MPEG cards which cost over $1000 for a decent one, I simply love it. I'm not a professional video editor so this card does me just fine...
