Morning all, here we go again with the all important numbers. Another great days crunching y'all, only 700k points, BUT 15 thousand hits or potential cures :D

There is a lot of talk at the moment about Geobot, Pixiebot and cwizard leaving FAD over lost jobs.

Whilst it is sad that members that have given so much are leaving, lets not forget that many of us pile a huge amount of resources into this project, Electricity, computer parts etc. It is VERY anhoying when jobs just seem to disapear into thin air.

Lets also not forget though that the points are a by the by, the important thing is the molecules and number of hits and what we are plugging away at - i.e. cures for Cancer, Aids, Multiple Sclerosis, Sars etc etc.

I sure didn't start this project because I wanted to get to 13th place in the stats, I started it because I want to see an end of Cancer, HIV etc for my children and my childrens children.

I am surprised at Thinks attitude to this whole thing, sure they might only be a few points, but the principle thing is recognition. If a persons computer has been chugging away for 8 days only to have that work blown away in an instant, I can certainly understand peoples reasons for moving on.

At the same time though, look at it this way:

We as a team uploaded 486 jobs, this is an average of 5.6 jobs per person. Fad as a whole has over 4,900 members. If each member uploaded an average of 5.6 jobs, the total for one day is over 33 thousand jobs. Now, FAD is a non profit making project, the cost involved running multiple servers around the world must be atronomical. The cost for staff to filter through all those jobs looking for the odd missing one is IMHO a waste of resources especially when those jobs have already been submitted. I would much rather those staff spent time analysing the data and coming up with new queries etc.

Right or wrong - You decide.

At the end of the day, sh1t happens, no-ones perfect, no client is perfect. What a boring world this would be if everything ran like clockwork.

I really do hope that Geobot and cwizard reconsider, I know it is anhoying (it's happened to me), but look at the greater picture. There are 2 new drugs out that are used along side Chemo therepy, and Cancer Research UK are looking at trials for a inoculation injection that could stop some forms of cancer starting. This is exciting news and is what this project is all about, not points, CURES.

I also wish to add that these are just my views on the situation, and I thought I would share them.

Anyway, back to the stats...

Excellent numbers coming in from all over again, nice to see akinsey making a couple of milestones - normally very quiet.
Also some good looking milestones, CCristo 300 thousand hits, Gouki 6 years and da snowman 2 years output, heck, even I got one :)

Great to see :D

Milestones:
---------------
CCristo - 300 thousand hits
mondobyte - 65 million molecules
Win2Kuser - 85 million molecules
Gouki - 6 years CPU time
Mntsnow_XPC - 2 years CPU time
akinsey - 125 thousand points and 1 million molecules
daveleau - 50 thousand points and 250 thousand molecules

Congrats to the 'stoners

The great transition of the mondobyte mob is underway ... stay tuned for more news ...

Hope you are healing Win2K.

In the broad perspective ... 50K points is really insignificant.

Remember that each and every one of us has lost credit for completed jobs at one time or another. In the long haul ... I have over 6 million points ... 50K is a minor bump in the road.

As each of you patiently and persistently pile up results ... 50K is pretty insignificant over the long haul.

Great crunching, All! Congratz to the 'stonerz!

Good luck with the mob, mondo! How's the 'anatomy', Win2K?

Recent events are a shame, but life goes on! Finding a cure goes on!

It's going to be a good fight Gohan :) Still has. But Bullen's going to pass us.

Man my output is off...that should hopefully change in the near future... ;)

And I *think* I got my computer problems solved at home. I hope. I think the months and months of having my system overclocked was starting to take a toll on my memory. For the time being I've backed it down 100mhz or so and so far so good. So random reboots or games crashing on me...I played KotOR for quite a few hours last night. :D

Some of you should have been around after the initial beta when stats were adjusted. This was in the pre-points days, but jobs, mollies, and hits were adjusted!

Keep on crunching!!

Thanks again for the all important numbers Win2K. :)

As a reward for your efforts, I found some recipes for deep fried banana (http://www.cooks.com/rec/search?q=deep+fried+banana&s=) that seem to be less of a pain.

Nice job Stant, 2 jobs and ya jumped me. I got a nice on sitting here that should put you back in your place....if it will ever finish.

Here's my .02 cents on the current situation. Only the strong survive. People that lose interest/quit apparently aren't cut out for running DC. Its demanding, and sometimes it gets under your skin. So tough it up and suck it up folks. Onwards and Upwards!!!

As a reward for your efforts, I found some recipes for deep fried banana (http://www.cooks.com/rec/search?q=deep+fried+banana&s=) that seem to be less of a pain.

Btw I liked the message icon you used for the Tuesday 3 Feb stats - made the Stats thread nice and easy to pick out from all the rubbish. Cans't do it every day ?

it's been a rather trying week for some of us...re:uncounted jobs, opinions expressed, etc and it's important to not lose sight that while the road has been a bit bumpy at times, the work we do is important in more ways than one.

akinsey, Stant093, mholtum, Efity, Gouki, & Brydon helping the cause yesterday with their contributions...keep up the good work, people. :)
