Hey guys, I was wondering... what's the oldest cow in your herd? I hear you guys talking about Athlon XPs a lot, but I was wondering if any of you run older computers. The oldest ones I have right now is a K6-2 and I might be adding a VIA Cyrix :snail:.

I have a 450 Celeron running as the slowest in my herd (a k6-2 500 that outdates that was dead).
I have a Pentium pro 150, and a Pentium 100 & Pentium 75, but fear the CPU scores....! :ROF:

I'm over 50, but I'm not as old as Geobot.
Er...when it comes to cows, might not the original year of manufacture rather than all the twiddly model designations be a bit more informative/interesting ? Most people seem to have replaced so many bits and bobs that the original configuration must be unrecognizable. I guess I must be the only member of this illustrious team who has not yet touched a thing inside the original casework !!!

Currently trying to rebuild a cow I used to use for another fad group.
K-7 650MHZ, but I need a new slot A board with onboard video/sound....Not having much luck either... :(

My oldest is an IBM Aptiva M51 made in 1995. It originally had a P100 and 8MB RAM. It eventually got upgraded to have a K6 233, 32MB RAM, and a whopping 256KB L2 cache. I've still got all of the original parts, except for the 4x CD-ROM drive. That got replaced under warranty two weeks after I got the computer. The drive failed on Dec 22. Called IBM on the 23. Received the replacement on the 26. They even included a replacement audio cable in case the old got damaged removing the old drive and a video tape showing how to take the system apart and work on it. And this was just for a personal, home system. What ever happened to that kind of customer support?

I installed FaD on a K6 - 500, but there's no internet conection and I don't get over there enough to make sneakernet worthwhile. Slowest are P2 400 @ 450, and a dual celeron @ 450.
I've got a P200 sat here but my flatmates wouldn't let me leave that one on too- I get enough grief about the few I do run!
I used to run UD on a Via 500 chip which got a processor score of about the same as the P200.

I ran a VIA Cyrix 733 MHz GigaPro for about 3 months. It gave me a CPU rating of 5, so I unplugged it and dismantled it. A waste of perfectly good electricity. Don't do it! :)
My slowest is an XP1900+ ( overclocked ).
My oldest is an Abit KT7A_R, but it is running an XP2400+ @ 2300 MHz.

Pentium 75 was the slowest I have had FAD running on :p :)
My slowest now is a dual P2-333 system although it isn't on much atm due to power concerns and a pesky wifey

:ROF: Indeed.... I wonder which he would fear more as a repercussion! :p
You can see his thought process - it hurts, but at least its getting some attention paid to it!

lol
My slowest one is a Celeron 450 lappy. Backed up by 2x K6/2 500's.
Next slowest is an XP2200@XP1600 :( until I figure out what's wrong with it, once I install debian I'll have either a Duron 700 or 1g back up.

[edit]
Sorry, didn't read the post properly
Anyway, is it one with a 387, or just the one chip?
