Omar continues to slowly close behind me... and if I continue to catch up with Mondo, that could be a good fight in a couple of weeks! :)

Congratulations to the long lists of 'stoners this week - keep up the great work! :D

Good numbers everyone, Sorry I'll be away for the next couple days (as I was prior to today) my daughter is in the hospital with her ankle (which was just sore, turned out to be far more serious, but everything is fine now, just gonna take a bit before she can come off IV antibiotics)...

Keep up the great work everyone, and I'll check back in when I'm home next.

howdy, everyone.

a very strong week for many members...great output by CCristo, Zippy, Omardeth, sharder, cwizard, C-C, jmebonner, H_E, scoser, TT, Soopastar, Bullen, brian0555, Twiztid, and plenty of others. but contributions aren't always measured by sheer output alone...i am happy to see the smaller members like Blade, akinsey, & Ola_S standing in the ranks with us and crunching too! :)

and that is really what this project is all about - people from all walks of life who have banded together under a great cause. :cool:

onwards & upwards, folks!

ps. gliddend...looks like you've got a stray cow to rope in. :)

Tell the cow to haul gliddend in instead. The cow's OK, it's gliddend who's the stray.

REally TT, you're giving me the impression that you're going astray, especially in your mind at your old age (you old fart) ;)

Jobs seem to be taking their time on my end...

That seems like a strange place to run your jobs - on your end...

NOT!
The reason that you are catching up is I lost an XP2200 ... waiting on HD. S/B up and running tomorrow on a temp basis until the HD comes in next week.

On a lighter note ... everything is ordered for 3 new computers
so ... within 2 weeks ...
dual pentium 200 -> Athlon XP 2400 @ 2190
dual pentium 200 -> Athlon XP 2200 @ 2025
dual pentium 200 -> Athlon XP 2200 @ 2025

When they come online ... watch out!

and of course, the other upgrade ... dual mp1.2 -> dual mp2000 is in the works as well.

For awhile, the dual pentium 200's will continue to crunch until they are sold ;)

In the short term ... you may pass me ... we shall see ... will you be able to withstand firepower of that magnitude? The gauntlet has been thrown ...

c'mon tmx...time to get a second job so you can start funding your FAD habit. ;)

Is that because my first job is to get a job, or do I get a first job to pay the bills? :D ;)

I have a couple of Pentium Pro 150's... are they any good at crunching? :eek: (would I dare load 2k on them!?)

w2k would work on em if you had some decent memory, ie. 64-128mb. but the amount of power they would consume wouldn't make it worth it, i'm afraid, esp if you are not currently working. (sorry to hear that, btw :( )

too bad you don't live near me. i would give you a p2-400mhz machine for free if you promised to run fad on it. :)

Any PC I run gets FaD installed (as my ex may discover one day in the very distant future! :P)

I have a Network+ course at the end of the week, and after that its all about money coming in..

Priorities at the moment are paying off the bills, but after that, the upgrade process shall begin in earnest

The 450 celeron and 933 PIII will become Athlons, and I might move the P4 1.6 out and replace that with an athlon as well.. and then its a case of upgrading the older 1700/1800's with 2600's :D

He'd probably just move the little switch on the back of the PSU from 110 - 120v to 230-240v!

All my computers have that little switch in back ... no big deal to run them on 110-120v or 230v-240v ... 50Hz or 60Hz

If it was tmx he'd forget that of course...

Well I've learnt something today as well. Or maybe it was yesterday. So the innards of a computer are based on a 110 V input...

If I recall correctly from my teenage days as a keen student of physics, then over here on the 240 V side of the world, we must "suffer" from additional heat losses in the transformer. Wonder if they are big enough to make a solid case for forcing tmx to emigrate to the 110 V side of the world. It would be nice to get rid of him so painlessly...
